Top 3 Fitness Tips (I have learned over the past 24 days):
I am almost 1/4 of the way through 100 workouts, and although I have been in the fitness field for a combined 8 years as a student who studied Exercise Science got a B S. Degree in Kinesiology and Health, studied to get my Health Fitness Specialist Certification from ACSM, worked for GNC, taught group fitness classes, and now as an Online Wellness Coach and Mentor, I am STILL learning new things everyday, so here ya go:
1. Add stretching days into your workout program 🧘🏼♀️Having built in mobility days is REALLY nice! I honestly don't do enough stretching and when I first saw that every 5th day of my #Be💯
group was an active recovery day the athlete in me was like really?? And figured I would just stack them into the other days or skip them entirely... but honestly it is soo NICE to not just stretch before and after your workout but to stretch for 25 minutes and really let your muscles recover. 😍
2. Agility work is JUST as important as strength training. I know soo many fitness experts that just prescribe weights and cardio and completely leave out agility work. 🤦🏼♀️ Using your BODY and your BRAIN at the same time is HARD AF! Then add in keeping to a beat (I get to workout with a live DJ 🎶 everyday 😍) and that adds a WHOLE new level of CHALLENGE that is pretty fun! .
3. Short, consistent workouts compound over time. 💪 I have had a few clients say that the workouts seem too short (18-30 minutes) or too easy. But the thing I have found over the years is, it's NOT about besting yourself up at the gym as punishment, it's about CONCISTENCY. Exercising because you LOVE yourself NOT because you HAVE to. Health isn't about how you look, it's a FEELING. .
23 workouts in I am learning lessons DAILY, and I can't wait to see what the next 77 hold 💫
