3061. “I was so ecstatic when I got out of there because it was such an adrenaline rush.” When Lorraine Nylund turned 50, she took on a project to complete 50 different activities she’d never tried before, including standup comedy, scuba diving and spelunking. She kicked things off with the cave diving experience, during which she descended almost 70 meters into the earth, and ended up completing all 50 items after she turned 51. She definitely expanded her comfort zone through the experience; however, Lorraine already always had a passion for adventure. Growing up as 1 of 4 children in the family and the only girl, she shared, “I was always the wanderer of the bunch.” As a kid, Lorraine used to wander around in her hometown of Edmonton, CA, prompting her parents to drive around looking for her. As an adult, she moved to Hawaii for a couple of years after high school and also traveled to countries like New Zealand and Australia around that time. Though she eventually returned home, obtained her degrees in Political Science, English & Accounting and settled down in the Vancouver area, Lorraine continued to focus on travel. Alongside raising her son as a single mother, building a career in the Training & Instructional Design industry and becoming a grandmother, she’s made it to 57 different countries so far. Going forward, she hopes to hit 100 during her lifetime, but for now is focused on a more near term goal - getting married to her fiancé next Fall! So nice to meet you, @ljnylund! #10kfriends #nyc #midtown #wework #spelunking #adventure #wandered #edmonton #vancouver #training #mother #grandmother #travel #marriage #meetingpeople

How we met: Lorraine came across my project somehow (we’re not sure how) and then DM’ed me to meet!
