For the last 6 years, I’ve been decorating my desk with postcards from all the places I’ve visited, snapshots of where I’ve been and what I’ve seen and done.
I’ve been on stage with Mickey Mouse at Disneyland Paris, I’ve sat in the Queen of Sweden’s throne, been wined and dined at the Belgian GP by their Minister of Tourism and woke in a luxurious suite room to a view of the sun rising over Lake Maggiore
I’ve travelled from Stockholm to Athens, San Francisco to Vienna, Barcelona to Buenos Aires
I’ve visited and stayed in crap youth hostels, outskirts business park nondescript hotels, boutique city centre hotels and the Royal Suite at the 5*GL Arts Hotel
I’ve inadvertently driven through Switzerland, been sent to buy loo rolls and bin bags for 300 people, ran the department from a sun lounger on the beach, sorted wheelchairs drinking coffee in the fanciest cafe on the banks of the Canal Grande beside Piazza San Marco, been caught in national manifestations and protests, and faced the after effects of a terrorist attack I thankfully narrowly missed.
There’s been missed flights, train delays, cars that drive forwards in reverse, lost phones, language disasters and much more!
It’s been a mad, frequently surreal, often frantic, sometimes frustrating, but mostly fun 6 years. The postcards show a few but not all the places I’ve visited. There’s many, many more cities, sights and stories not shown by the cards. But tomorrow this adventure comes to an end!
As on Monday, I am moving to Spain to start a new adventure and #fransadventures
starts again ✈️🇪🇸 #unavitadiviaggi #lifeintravel #volandovoyvolandovengo
