I posted this in my stories this morning but I feel it needs it’s own post.
Today Mike met my Aunt Kellie for the first time. My Aunt is buried at Arlington National Cemetery as her husband is Army.
My Aunt Kellie passed away from a very rare form of cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma on August 16, 2011 just 2 weeks after her 40th birthday. When I started my #TTC journey Kellie was also on her journey and I remember feeling that I didn’t want to have to make the call to tell her I was pregnant. A classic story of when they decided to stop trying after cancelled IVF cycles is when their miracle happened. Unfortunately Kellie was never just a mother as she was diagnosed while she was pregnant. As I approach my 40th birthday I can’t help but remember a conversation we had on her 40th. My goal is to enjoy this birthday in honor of my Aunt Kellie
So today was a very special day as not only was it comforting knowing that someone was visiting Kellie but the fact that Mike took time out on his day off to go visit and talk with her.
