Compassion Fatigue

I talk a lot about burnout because it’s very common among healthcare professionals, and if left unchecked it can be extremely problematic. Something I haven’t gone over is compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue has similar symptoms to burnout but they are different.

Burnout is an overall feeling of being “worn out.” Compassion fatigue happens quicker than burnout from absorbing emotional stresses of others and can create a secondary trauma. Compassion fatigue is more common in helping professionals.

Some signs of compassion fatigue are:
• chronic exhaustion
• difficulty sleeping
• irritability
• poor job satisfaction
• depersonalization

Ich selbst behaupte nicht perfekt zu sein, auch wenn ich das oft anstrebe 🙈 Doch gerade in Bezug auf Ernährung und Stressbewältigung erzähle ich meinen Kunden nicht nur von Änderungen, sondern lebe sie ihnen vor... Ich lebe es vor, weil ich selbst in der glücklichen Lage war diese Erfahrung gemacht zu haben. Glücklich?
