Say Goodbye To Underearning
Are you being paid by the value of the results you provide? If not you’re probably underearning.
So, how do you know if you’re being underpaid? Gauge your feelings. If you feel like you’re doing a lot of work, but
your income doesn’t feel reflective of that work, that’s a big hint. If it feels unfair or unbalanced in the favor of an employer or client, you’re probably under-earning.
How can you overcome this? Raise your rates! Sounds easy enough, but if you don’t believe you can or you not confident in the amazing results you provide, this is not going to be easy. You need to start from a place of confidently knowing the value of your products or services in the marketplace. And then based on your level of mastery and experience, you can charge a premium to whatever the standard is.
Don’t worry if you don’t have mastery yet, that’s something that will come naturally when you love what you do so much that it doesn’t feel like work. Working at it and getting better at it will come naturally and with that, you can expect to be able to charge more and more over time.
If you don’t believe that you can charge more, where is that coming from? How can you eliminate those negative beliefs? What new supportive beliefs can you develop to help you begin to overcome underearning by confidently charging by the value of the outcomes you provide? What problems do you solve for the people you serve and if you could put a dollar amount on that, what would it be?
