The landscape changes dramatically as you hike from Italy into Switzerland over the Grand Col Ferret (2537m). 🥾 🇨🇭🥾🇨🇭🥾🇨🇭🥾🇨🇭 Leaving behind the jagged frozen peaks & glaciers of the Italian Val Ferret as you descend into the Swiss Val Ferret the scenery becomes picture book 🇨🇭- grazing cattle with their wonderful clanging bells, charming wooden chalets & rolling green hills. 🐄 🇨🇭🐄🇨🇭🐄🇨🇭🐄🇨🇭 This was another long 10 hr day for us & per guide suggestions, we caught the last bus 🚌 from Ferret to Champex-Lac to pick up the next stage. 🇨🇭❤️🇨🇭❤️🇨🇭❤️🇨🇭❤️ I’ll add all the details of this to our TMB Guide on the blog (that I’m thrilled so many of you are using! 🤗). Hike 3: Hörnlihütte (Aug 5)

My favorite hike from this trip! We hiked from Schwarzee (8,375ft) to the base camp of the Matterhorn, Hörnlihütte (10,695ft) Gazing at the Matterhorn is both intimidating and awe-inspiring. I admire everyone who’s attempted, and has made the summit, cause I probably will never attempt it myself 😬
