I always cringe when I hear a dietitian or health care practitioner advocating the 'health benefits' of grains and beans 🤦🏽‍♂️ •

Nutritional biochemistry has scientifically proven there is no need in the body for these problematic foods and that they cause a wide range of negative effects to your health.

Not only are they mostly comprised of blood sugar spiking starch, but they have been shown to cause all kinds of inflammation, weight gain, and gut/brain issues in the vast majority of people to some degree. •
•
Most people realize that grain products such as breads, pastas, crackers, etc. are not good for you. But beans & legumes?!? 🍞🍝🥨🍚

That's right. Those 'protein/fiber packed' beans you have been eating since you thought they were healthy are actually mostly starch! They often times cause GI issues and have a poor amino acid (protien) profile compared to high-quality animal protien. •

I am not saying beans are the worst and should never be consumed. They convert into sugar slower than grains and some people actually do well with them and enjoy the taste. As with any starch, adding healthy fats slows the conversion even more. 👍🏼

I am saying this. If you don't like the taste of beans/legumes and only add them into dishes since you thought they were good for you, I'm here to tell you: You are better off without them. 👌🏼

I used to eat like garbage. Highly processed, low quality food was my JAM. I learned this wreaks havoc on your gut and causes inflammation. The more inflamed your body is the less likely you are to lose body fat.⁣

Because of my poor diet I dealt with constipation, bloating and I always seemed to have an upset stomach. I never took into consideration how vital gut health is in my fat loss journey.⁣

It is important to have a wide variety of high quality produce to give your body the nutrients it needs to operate correctly and help decrease overall inflammation.⁣
⁣
The problem is, I am lazy with my food, I like to eat the same few veggies and fruits weekly. Also, don't shoot me, but I do not buy organic🙈 so the quality of my produce may not be that great, and therefore could lack the full nutrient profile. ⁣

On top of the handful of fruits and veggies I currently eat, I also supplement with @1stphorm Opti Greens 50. This is like the king of gut health supplements. It is going to provide me with 50 non GMO fruits, veggies and grasses to make up for the nutrients I am lacking in my diet. Because I am getting more nutrients to my gut, it will be less inflamed and more likely to operate optimally, allowing my body absorb the nutrients I am eating.⁣

Since our guts are over 30 ft long, we don’t digest tough animal flesh very well.. hence that lethargic feeling after a heavy meaty meal. Since our digestive system isn’t geared for meat, bits can stay inside creases and hidey holes in the intestines, sometimes rotting away for days or even months, if we don’t eat enough fibre to clear it out. Which most on the NA diet don’t. 
Eating more P L A N T S isn’t just for the animals, the environment, our kids’ futures — although those are all sufficient and undeniable reasons to do so. Sometimes not having to worry about BO is a good enough reason! 😝✌🏼🍃 #eatwell

Soy braised beef and peppers 
Ingredients:
*2 lbs beef Tri tip, flank, or stew meat
*2 cups average grade sake
*2 cups water
*3-4 tbs sugar
*1 garlic head, peeled spatched w/knife blade
*1 white or yellow onion quartered
*Handful or to taste jalapeño, Serrano, or ghost peppers washed and halved

•Heat oven in middle position 350.
•Cut up meat into 2 inch pieces
•Working in batches, brown meat in 2 tbsp of fat (olive oil, sesame oil, or reserves bacon grease)
•Add all other ingredients 
Bake in oven w/ lid on 
2 1/2-3 hours 
Serve as filling w/ veggies in lettuce wraps as a gluten free option
Or Enjoy w/ rice.

This is a typical Korean Banchan (side dish) best enjoyed in moderate consumption w/ rice, soup, and other veggies.
