As every dnb head should know, this is probably one of the best albums ever written in the supersonic history. 'Wormhole' shaped the future of the genre with attitude, grove, erotic drums, darkness, tight and airy low ends. That is what makes this piece timeless and unique. And I could go on and on with simple or complex vocabulary describing how good it is and sound this release. Ed Rush and Optical's musicality and sound engineering are evidently good... Synthesis, sampling, drum programming and intense mixdowns.
If you don't enjoy it, you should consider yourself numb, dumb and even without a philosophy about the drum and bass atmosphere, but nowadays philosophy is clearly the less important thing in music...
I was not a fan of 'Mystery Machine' till I listened to it in a decent pair of speakers, with the volume up, and started to feel and visualize the excellent low end here.
'Glass Eye', 'Fixation' probably one of the gnarliest tracks from the duo, 'Millenium' and 'Splinter' are defo my favourite, but nothing beats the virus roller 'Coumpound'. Funky drums, catchy leads and rolling 808s. The grasping modulated white noise was what caught my ear at first listening...once again if you don't go insane and psychotic with this one you should really see a doctor. And if you don't believe in anything I just wrote just listen to 'Wormhole' and 'Dozer' and tell me if the 2020 releases don't sound like that. Funny, comic, and deep.
