For me, yoga is not about postures, it's about movement.
Precise and Aligned moment through space.
The way we move is incredibly important.
Not just exercise - wise, but day to day the way we move has an enormous impact on our lives... Are you moving with confidence, ease and fluidity in your body?
Or are you hobbling about, stiff and slouching all day?
It makes a big difference!
How we move not only affects how we look, but faulty movement patterns lead to muscular, skeletal, energetic, and hormonal imbalances. And that leads to pain, disease and distress.
Oh it's a big deal.
And that's one reason yoga is so healing overall.
It's not the "postures" per se. (Who really cares if you can do a nice standing bow?)
An Aligned yoga practice increases overall mobility, strength and stability at the same time.
It's total body alignment.
And with that we feel better, have less pain, more energy, and more fluidity in our movement.
It's pretty amazing.
