336/365: Sometimes you have to write a workout to break you so you can start to reassemble yourself. Tonight was one of those nights. How do I know this? Because 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. I had the same fear that felt like I was being chained down with it…⁣⁣⁣

I was someone who ate junk food 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄. There wasn’t balance or moderation. Over the course of 1 year, 𝐈 𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝟓𝟎 𝐥𝐛𝐬.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
𝐌𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞…I was so depressed that it took over my life.⁣⁣⁣

👉𝐔𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲…⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I had to ride in an ambulance because my blood pressure spiked to 200/110 and my heart rate was 160. If you don’t know what that means, it means I was close to having a heart attack at 22 YEARS OLD!⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
So…I had to make a cardio specialist Dr’s appt to pinpoint what was going on.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I sat there while he said, “We’ll have to put you on blood pressure and heart medication. But we’ll start you on blood pressure medication first.”⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
At 22 years old, that was devastating to hear because I knew why I was there….for 2 reasons⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
1. Heart disease runs in my family⁣⁣⁣
2. But most of all…I wasn’t taking care of myself one bit⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭. No one else was to blame.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
After that day, I swore to myself that I would do whatever I had to do to better my health. I knew I needed to treat myself better if I wanted to live longer.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I started working out, eating better while still having my favorite junk food, and putting myself first for once.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
To be completely honest with you, if that moment didn’t happen I probably wouldn’t be working on my health every day. ⁣⁣

Nothing gets me more fired up than seeing people post that carbs are fattening!🤬 Every single day I know there are fit babes just like you watching videos of “fitness gurus” on Instagram telling you to cut out carbs to lose weight😩 And unfortunately, it doesn’t end there. I know what it’s like to be confused as hell about what foods do and don’t cause weight gain because I was once in your shoes🙋🏼‍♀️ being constantly bombarded with messages that made me second guess my food choices and especially make me feel guilty for eating carbs😭 And it’s not just online! Even at the grocery store we see foods being marketed as low carb to imply they are healthier! And worst of all, those magazines at the checkout line are SHOCKINGLY still a thing!?🙊 If I see another cover of a celebrity promoting “lose 30 pounds before Christmas by going keto” I’m going to LOSE IT!!!!😤⠀

Reality check: NO ONE FOOD causes weight gain. Period. End of STORY!!!!
